We, at Roxan, were very sad to hear of the news of the sudden passing of Dave Scott. He and his wife Muriel ran Tagmaster in Hawick in the Scottish Borders for many years before they retired. They made many friends supplying tags and electronic reading, weighing and sorting equipment throughout mainly Scotland but all over the UK too before they sold David Lowe Scott (Tagmaster) the business to Roxan and retired in 2015.
Dave grew up in farming and after various posts around Scotland settled in the Borders where made a huge contribution to the early days of electronic tagging. He became fieldsman for Bordertag which was a very successful and well supported farmer-based project making use of electronic tags for cattle back in the late 90’s. It was practical proof of the usefulness of EID and so nearly became the forerunner of EID for cattle in Scotland in 2000 had it not been for a last minute (probably political) spanner in the works.
